The subjunctive with expressions of feelings 1.The subjunctive after verbs and expressions that convey feelings, such as alegrarse que, sentir que, temer que, ojalá que, es triste que, estar contento que, estar encantado que, me duele mucho que, me frustra que. Ej: Me alegro que mis amigos puedan estar unos días aquí. Ej: Tememos que María se enferme. Ej: ¡Ojalá que Ricardo no llegue tarde! 2. A change of subject after a verb that conveys feelings is shown by que. If there isn't a change of subject, the infinitive is normally used. Siento que tengas que trabajar hoy.
