2 Demonstrative Adjectives
Demonstrative Adjectives point out people & things. In English, they are words such as “this, these, that, those”. Remember this phrase… This & These have T’s That & Those Don’t!

3 This & These have Ts The Demonstrative Adj. “this & these” are as follows… Just like any adjective the demonstratives must agree in number & gender with the noun it is modifying. ¿Te gusta este vestido? Yo prefiero esta bolsa. Masculine Feminine Singular (this) Este Esta Plural (these) Estos Estas

4 That & Those don’t The Demonstrative Adj “that & those” are as follows… Esos lápices escriben bien. No vivo en esa calle. Masculine Feminine Singular (That) Ese Esa Plural (Those) Esos Esas

5 That & Those (over there)
In Spanish, there is a second form of that & those that express something that is a greater distance away from the speaker/listener. Me gustan aquellas botas. Aquella casa es muy grande y bonita. Masculine Feminine Singular (that over there) Aquel Aquella Plural (those over there) Aquellos Aquellas

6 Neuter Deomonstratives
When you are referring to something nonspecific such as “What is this?” or “That’s not true” or when you don’t or can’t know the name of the item you are referring to, you will use the neuter demonstrative pronoun. Esto (this) Eso (that) Aquello (that over there) ¿Qué es eso? (What is that?) ¡Esto es absurdo! (This is absurd!) Aquello es una monstruosidad. (That (over there) is a monstrosity.)

(This) traje de baño es muy caro. (Those) zapatos son baratos. Me gusta más (that) falda de seda. (Those over there) botas son un robo. (This) camisa es mi talla. (These) pantalones son una ganga. ¡(This) es formidable! ¡Yo nunca hago (that)!

10 Las Comparaciones In order to compare things, use the following formulas. The adjective will agree in gender & number with the object being described. Más + adjetivo + que (more…than) Tan + adjetivo + como (as…as) Menos + adjetivo + que (less…than)

11 Los Ejemplos Esta camiseta es más bonita que esa camiseta.
(This t-shirt is prettier than that t-shirt.) Tú eres tan bonita como una princesa. (You are as pretty as a princess.) Luis es menos inteligente que José. (Luis is less intelligent than José.)

12 Más Comparaciones To say if someone does something more than, less than, or as much as someone else. Use… Más que (more than) Menos que (less than) Tanto como (as much as) Esta falda cuesta más que esa falda. (This skirt costs more than that skirt.) Pancho come tanto como un elefante. (Pancho eats as much as an elephant.) Yo compro menos que Elena. (I buy less than Elena.)

13 Más Comparaciones To compare quantities that are the same or equal.
Use this formula: tanto/tantos + noun + como tanta/tantas + noun + como Yo tengo tanto dinero como mi hermano. Maria tiene tantas amigas como amigos. Yo tengo tantos zapatos como una actriz. Los chicos tienen tanta energía como Energizer Bunny. Tanto must agree with the noun it is modifying.
