You will see a word in English
You will see a word in English. In your mind, think about how you normally pronounce it. Let’s say the word together to see if we pronounce it similarly. Oh Most American English speakers will pronounce this with a strong “O” vowel sound, followed by a soft “uw” vowel sound. This is called a diphthong. This is common in English, but does not exist in single vowels in Spanish.
38
To answer the last question, English speakers unintentionally add diphthongs to single vowels. In order for Native Spanish speakers to understand us better, we need to Simplify our Vowel Sounds. Let’s practice a few Mono-vowel words in Spanish.
