APUNTES: GUSTAR “Gustar” does not mean “To like” but rather “It is pleasing” to someone. The thing or person that is PLEASING gets the conjugation of GUSTAR. The person that is PLEASED goes in front of the verb (me, te, le, etc.). For emphasis, you may also add “a mí” “a ti” etc. to the beginning of a ‘gustar’ statement. Example: No me gusta la tarea. or A mí no me gusta la tarea.

Traducir a inglés. Modelo: No me gustan los exámenes. Tests/Exams are not pleasing to me. Me gusta comer. Les gusta el brócoli ¿Te gustan las uvas? Nos gusta conversar en español. A ella le gustan las papas fritas. Traducir a español. Modelo: It is pleasing to you to sing. Te gusta cantar./ A ti te gusta cantar. Chocolate (el chocolate) is pleasing to her. French fries (papas fritas) are pleasing to us. Sports (los deportes) are pleasing to me. The classes (las clases) are pleasing to them. It is pleasing to you (tú) to sleep (dormir) To eat is pleasing to me. The broccoli is pleasing to them/you all. Are the grapes pleasing to you? To converse in Spanish is pleasing to us. The French fries are pleasing to her. (A ella) le gusta el chocolate. (A nosotros) nos gustan las papas fritas. (A mí) me gustan los deportes. (A ellos) les gustan las clases. (A ti) te gusta dormir.
