5 Los bomberos chilenos ¿Sabes que todos los bomberos en Chile son voluntarios? Para ser bombero, uno tiene que llenar una solicitud (application) en una estación de bomberos y aprobar (pass) un examen físico y mental. Los bomberos no tienen horarios fijos (fixed). Van a la estación cuando pueden y todos tienen radios para saber cuándo los necesitan. Sirven durante el día y también durante la “guardia nocturna.” Para comprar el equipo necesario, los voluntarios tienen que pagar dinero todos los meses para servir a la comunidad. ¿Crees que los voluntarios deben pagar sus propios gastos (expenses)? ¿Por qué? Contesta en español.
