Algunas características: Especialmente en lo referente a la identificación de oportunidades de negocio, apuntan con frecuencia a tecnologías emergentes o incipientes, por lo que requieren en muchas ocasiones de un proyecto de desarrollo tecnológico previo que añade incertidumbre tecnológica y, sobre todo, prolonga el retorno de valor en el tiempo. Afloran las mejores oportunidades detectadas en los espacios seleccionados, pero es más difícil que presenten potencial disruptivo (o no lo aparentan). B CONEXIÓN CON REDES DE INNOVACIÓN Conectar la empresa en red con centros que practiquen vigilancia sistemática de modelos y oportunidades de negocio e ideas y tendencias innovadoras. Algunas características: En lo referente a la identificación de oportunidades de negocio, pueden ofrecer oportunidades sobre desarrollos tecnológicos ya realizados o no necesarios. Cruzan y combinan recursos, competencias y modelos de negocio de diferentes organizaciones para afrontar un proyecto diferente a los existentes, por lo que tienden a afrontarse en cooperación. Es más probable que afloren oportunidades de gran potencial disruptivo, pero forzando compartir también severas incertidumbres en varios campos, porque dichas oportunidades pueden no pertenecer significativamente al dominio de ninguna de las partes cooperantes, si bien la propia cooperación mitiga el nivel del riesgo.
