2 VELATORIO: Los familiares, amigos y vecinas van a la casa del fallecido y durante toda la noche permanecen junto al difunto. Los hombres en una habitación y en la entrada de la casa. Las mujeres en otra, generalmente donde se encuentra el difunto. En la calle permanece mucha gente y suele hablarse de cosas cotidianas además del difunto. Funeral parlour: - Family, friends and neighbours go to the deceased’s house and stay all night long. - Men stay in a room and by the door. Women in another room, generally where the deceased is. - A lot of peoplestay on the street and they usually talk about daily life and about the dead person.

3 Durante toda la noche, los vecinos dan el pésame a la familia y se van turnando para que no se queden solos. Los vecinos más allegados llevan algo de comida y bebida (café) para ofrecer a los asistentes. Hoy en día se está prohibiendo esta práctica en la casa del difunto y las leyes obligarán a que el fallecido esté en una sala acondicionada del cementerio y/o tanatorio. 4 Hacia la iglesia: La mayoría de las personas son enterradas con una previa celebración religiosa en la iglesia. (Actualmente el 80%) Cuando alguien fallece, las campanas de la iglesia tienen un “toque” característico (8 a.m.)que te informa. Towards the church: - Most of the people are buried with a previous religious celebration in the church. (80% by now) - When someone dies, the bells of the church make a characteristic sound (8 a.m.) to inform.

5 Quince minutos antes de comenzar la misa, tocan las campanas
Quince minutos antes de comenzar la misa, tocan las campanas. El féretro sale del domicilio en coche fúnebre; familiares, amigos y vecinos van andando detrás hasta llegar a la iglesia. Fifteen minutes before the mass, bells ring. The Coffin is taken out the house in a funeral car; family, friends and neighbours go behind it by walk towards the church.

6 En la iglesia: Los primeros bancos se reservan para la familia.
Los hombre y mujeres suelen sentarse en zonas distintas. Fuera, en la puerta muchos hombres aguardan la salida del féretro. Las mujeres dan el pésame a las mujeres de la familia dentro de la iglesia y los hombre a los hombres de la familia en la puerta de la iglesia. (Pésame: condolencias por el fallecimiento) At the church: - Benches ahead are saved for the family. - Men and women usually sit on different places. 7 Se entierra en el nicho, propiedad de la familia.
Cementerio: Se va andando hasta el cementerio. Acompaña normalmente la familia más cercana. Se entierra en el nicho, propiedad de la familia. Hoy en día también se incineran. El 1 de noviembre siempre se visita al fallecido en el cementerio y se limpian y decoran las tumbas. Cemetery: - They all go by walk to the cemetery. Usually with the closest relatives. - The coffin is kept inside the niche, property of the family. -Now a days they’re also incinerated. - On november the first everyone visits the cemetery and the niches to clean and decorate them.
