Which Solution for Exchange? Functionality BE Core (w/Exchange Agent) BESR Core (w/Exchange Retrieve Option) Backup Exchange Granular Recovery Continuous Exchange Protection Application Recovery Dissimilar System Recovery With the introduction of the Exchange Retrieve Option, the question will arise regarding which solution a customer may need if there is Exchange. Remember, if the customer already has Backup Exec for Windows Servers, then sell the Backup Exec Agent for Exchange. However, if the customer has neither, this matrix should help define some of the discussions. Both protect Exchange and offer granular recovery. Both will eliminate the now redundant mailbox backup. But only Backup Exec for Windows Servers will offer Continuous Protection of Exchange and application level recovery.
