Present Progressive We use the present tense to talk about an action that always or often takes place or that are happening now.

Present Tense Ellos comen ensaladas. They eat salads. They are eating salads.

Present Progressive To stress that an action is happening right now, you use the present progressive tense.

The Importance of Estar Because this is something that is happening NOW, in this instant, and could change at any moment, we use ESTAR.
