3 AR Verbs Hablar – to speak Estudiar – to study Hablando – speaking Estudiando - studying

4 ER Verbs Comer – to eat Beber – to drink Comiendo - eating Bebiendo - drinking

5 IR Verbs Vivir – to live Escribir – to write Viviendo - living Escribiendo - writing

6 Yo estoy estudiando español. ¿Estás recibiendo buenas notas? Estamos hablando mucho en español.

7 You may want to make a new verb chart “Present Progressive” Add the following verbs to the top of the verb chart, conjugated in the present progressive. Cantar Bailar Correr Comprender Abrir recibir

8 Watch for irregular present participles!!! This involves 1.“ir” stem changing verbs or 2.verbs where the i→y !!

9 Dormir (to sleep)-durmiendo Servir (to serve)-sirviendo repetir (to repeat)-repitiendo Decir (to say)-diciendo Stem-changing (ir only)

10 Leer (to read)-leyendo Traer (to bring)-trayendo i to y verbs

11 If you are a “verb chart” person, you should add a couple of irregulars to the bottom of your verb chart. Be sure to label them at irregulars.
