Adjectives l Remember— adjectives agree with a noun depending on whether it’s masculine or feminine. l They also agree according to whether the noun is singular or plural.

The Plurals of Adjectives l To make adjectives plural, just add an -s after the vowel at the end of the adjective. l If the adjective ends in a consonant, add -es.

The Plurals of Adjectives l La hamburguesa es sabrosa. l Las hamburguesas son sabrosas.

The Plurals of Adjectives l El pastel es muy popular. l Los pasteles son muy populares.

The Plurals of Adjectives l When an adjective describes a group including both masculine and feminine nouns, use the masculine plural form.

Let’s review the verb SER (to be) l All forms are totally irregular. l They follow NO pattern. l You must memorize them!

SER Yosoy Túeres Ud. Éles Ella Nosotros somos Vosotros sois Uds. Ellos son Ellas

SER l Used to tell TIME and DATE. l Son las dos y media. l It is two thirty. l Es el veinte de noviembre. l It is the twentieth of November.

SER l Used to tell NATIONALITY. For example: Yo soy americana. Ella es puertorriqueña.

SER l Used to tell WHERE SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IS FROM. l Tú eres de Nicaragua. l Ellas son de Costa Rica.

SER l Used to connect a noun or pronoun to another noun or pronoun. l Eduardo es un hombre. l Coquí y Sultán son gatos.

SER l Used to describe CHARACTERISTICS. l Rebeca es alta. l Brad Pitt y yo somos guapos.

SER l You CANNOT use “un or una” with SER when describing someone’s profession. l Yo soy profesora. l Tú eres estudiante.
