Verbos Reflexivos

Verbos Reflexivos that the subject is both the giver - Reflexive verbs are used to indicate that the subject is both the giver and the receiver of the action. Example: The boy dresses himself. Is that same person receiving the dressing? (Yes!) Who is dressing? Since the boy is both doing the dressing and receiving the dressing, it is reflexive.

In English the reflexive pronouns are often expressed with a “self /selves” ending: You showered yourself. The boys wash themselves. Sometimes the “self/selves” sounds strange in English, so we omit it... Remember, though, if she is both doing the brushing and receiving the brushing, it is a reflexive verb. She brushes (herself).
