WAS para I –HE- SHE – IT y WERE para YOU- WE - THEY   Positive Negative Question I / he / she / it I was speaking. I was not speaking. Was I speaking? you / we they You were speaking. You were not speaking. Were you speaking?

1 When Laura arrived, I was reading the newspaper. OR I was reading the newspaper when Laura arrived. Por Ejemplo: Alex was reading while Mark was writing. OR While Mark was writing, Alex was reading. Por Ejemplo: What was he doing at six o'clock in the afternoon? He was eating a esquite on the bus. What was Ramón Ayala doing last night? He was singing at ten o'clock at Las Pulgas.

Como en el Ejemplo: were play I soccer was I was playing soccer Yo estaba jugando soccer when (call) when she called me. Cuando ella me llamó. write were they was a poem when (arrive) read Pepe was a book were When (visit) Jose were clean was table When (talk) Sleep was Maggy were When (kiss) Cuando dos acciones estaban ocurriendo al mismo tiempo en el Pasado. Ejemplo: were Tania was sweeping Tania was sweeping the floor Tania estaba barriendo Tony while were was read While Tony was reading. Mientras Tony estaba leyendo. was John eating were Conchy was were while jump Raul were to school go was Poncho was while were eat Were Pepe calling me was were Chofy while was fight Cuando una acción estaba ocurriendo en un momento específico del Pasado. What was he doing at 10 o’clock last night? He was watching a movie. What were they playing in the morning? They were playing tennis.
