Affirmative and Negative Words Alguno is used in front of the preposition de to mean “any” or “some.” Alguno (de ellos) vendrá a la fiesta. Any (one of them) will come to the party.
Affirmative and Negative Words When this word directly precedes a singular masculine noun, it shortens to algún. Ella compra algún bolso. She buys a bag (any kind).
