La vida saludable Healthy lifestyle

Definition of health Good health means that you feel fine. As an English phrase says “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Besides apple a healthy way of life is very important to be in good shape. It means you should have meals at regular times and sports in the fresh air.

Definición de salud Una buena salud significa sentirse bien. Como una frase inglesa dice “Una manzana al día es una alegría” Un buen estilo de vida. It means you should have meals at regular times and sports in the fresh air.

Habits A habit is a behaviour repeated regularly with few or no need to be reasoned. There are habits which are healthy (doing exercise, brush your teeth..) and others which are unhealthy (sedentary way of life, smoking..).

Hábitos Un hábito es un comportamiento repetido regularmente con poca o ninguna necesidad de ser razonado. Existen hábitos que son saludables (ejercicio, lavarse los dientes...) y otros no saludables (vida sedentaria, fumar ...).

Healthy habits They are those which have a positive effect on health, some are: Good hygiene Doing exercise for 30 minutes a day Eating balanced diet Reduce stress Preventive check-ups

Exercise We need to move our body ever day to keep fit. Do what you want but move as much as you can. You can run, swim, ride a horse, play tennis, dance, skate, surfe, play football…

Diet Diet should be adjusted to the age and individual need. The healthy eating pyramid is a diagram showing the proportions in which different food should be eaten to be healthy.

Dieta La dieta se debería ajustar a la edad y las necesidades individuales. La píramide de los alimentos nos muestra las proporciones en las cuales los alimentos deben ser consumidos para ser saludables.

Meals You should eat 5 meals a day. Breakfast should represent about 25% of total daily energy, snack 10%, 40% - lunch, tea – 15% and 15% - supper. Each meal should include cereals, vegetables, fruit and foods rich in protein. You should also drink approxately 2 liters of fluid a day, preferably non-carbonated mineral water, green tea and unsweetened fruit juice.

Comidas Se debe comer 5 veces al día. El desayuno debe representar el 25% de la energía calórica del día, la comida a media mañana un 10%, 40% - almuerzo, merienda– 15% y 15% - la cena. Las comidas deben incluir cereales,verduras, fruta y alimentos ricos en proteínas. También se deben beber 2 litros de agua al día,preferiblemente agua sin gas, té verde y zumos sin azúcar añadido .

Hygiene You have to take care of your hygiene. This means you should, brush your teeth after every meal, wash your hands before eating and also after going to the toilet. Then you take a shower often, change your clothes if they are dirty.

Higiene Tienes que preocuparte por tu higiene. Esto significa que deberías, lavarte los dientes, lavarte las manos antes de cada comida,y también después de ir al baño . Ducharse con frecuencia, y cambiarte de ropa si está sucia.

Stress and sleep Sleep enough – about 8 hours You should have fresh air, dark room and no much food before sleep

Estrés y dormir Dormir suficiente – sobre 8 horas Deberías de dormir en una habitación fresca y con poca luz. También deberías de comer poco antes de dormir.

Estilo de vida Cuanto más tiempo dediques a tu higiene, al ejercicio, y a tu dieta, más saludable será tu vida. Regularidad en lo que hagas (comer, ejercicio, domir…) Vigilar tu ritmo biológico, no cambies el día y la noche.

How to build habits Even knowing which habits are good and which are not, it is hard to change them. Here I show you how: 1- Take action; I mean do not procrastinate, do not leave it for tomorrow. 2- Once you begin, keep to it! 3- Set small goals; I mean to do not think; "I will do exercise every day", but something more easy like; "this week I will get out to run two days for 15 minutes" and make progress.

Como adoptar hábitos Aún sabiendo cuales son hábitos saludables y cuales no, es difícil cambiarlos. Aquí os muestro cómo: 1- Tomar acción; es decir hacerlo sin dilación, no dejarlo para mañana. 2- Una vez que empieces, ¡no lo dejes! 3- Marcarse pequeñas metas; me refiero a no pensar; "haré ejercicio todos los días", sino algo más fácil como; "esta semana saldré a correr dos días 15 minutos" e ir avanzando.
