 Some main verbs are always irregular and need learning:  Ser, tener, hacer, ver, decir, poder, ir, querer, poner, venir, salir, introducir, producir  This is just an idea of the most common verbs that we use, and those that can come up in a question 9  You should fill out a verb sheet for all of these verbs – wordreference can help.

 Normally on a question 9, there is no difference between using the preterite and imperfect.  The main thing you must remember is to add the accent!!  Preterites are tricky for most people

 Some verbs are ‘irregular’ in the preterite because of their stem:  estar estuv- poner pus-  tener tuv- saber sup-  haber hub- hacer hic-  poder pud- querer quis-  venir vin-decir dij-  producir – produj-introducir – introduj- They all take the same endings though: -e -iste -o -imos -isteis -ieron
