Past tense (preterite) There are two key words from our chapter that tells us we will be using the preterite tense: ayeranoche We use the preterite tense to tell about a completed action, an action done in the past.
-AR verbs The endings for the –AR verbs in the preterite are the following: -é-amos -aste-asteis -ó-aron
Verbs that have a spelling change: Verbs like sacar and tocar have a small spelling change in the YO form: Yo- saquéYo-toqué Why? Because we need to keep the “K” sound.
