Council of Colegios Mayores of Spain Council of Colegios Mayores of Spain

Council of Colegios Mayores The Colegios Mayores are organised at national level in the Consejo de Colegios Mayores Universitarios de España, integrated by a Director from each University of the country, elected among the Directors of the Colegios of every university. The "Director" or "Rector", (according to its history and traditions), of a Colegio Mayor is appointed by the Chancellor (Rector) of the University and the Governing Body of the University. Many of them are professors and all must have an academic degree.

Rectors or Deans of the Colegios are more involved in educational matters, tutorial and planning the academic and cultural life of the Colegio than in administrative tasks. These are carried out by the administrators. They are in charge of everything other than teaching or educating. Council of Colegios Mayores
