¡AY! ¡AY! ¡AY! There are always exceptions! If the reflexive verb follows a conjugated verb or ANTES DE/DESPUES DE we keep the reflexive in the infinitive and attach the pronoun to the end of the infinitive. Voy a ducharme. I am going to shower myself. Antes de ducharse, ella se cepilla los dientes. Before she showers herself, she brushes her teeth. Después de ducharse, ella se seca el pelo. After she showers herself, she dries her hair.

¡Cuidado! Note that you can use both situations in one sentence: Me cepillo los dientes después de ducharme When using reflexive verbs with body parts, clothing, or hygiene products we use the definite article. Ejemplos: ¿Siempre te pintas las uñas? Do you always paint your nails? Felipe se pone los zapatos Felipe puts on his shoes.
