Imperfecto (the imperfect) Used to describe past events in a different way than the preterite. Describe actions which are seen by the speaker as incomplete or “continuing”. Expresses what was happening at a certain time or how things used to be. (habitual or repeated actions) Many verbs that have stem changes in the present or preterite tenses, do not have stem changes in the imperfect tense. (ex. Entender, servir, doler, jugar)
