El pretérito: is 1 of the 2 past tense verbs (“-ed”) narrates a series of actions or events or outlines a specific time such as: 1. a completed action I left Lulú’s house early yesterday. 2. talks about what happened I bought a shirt and paid $15. 3. when an event began or ended in the past Last Saturday the party ended at midnight. 4. asks or state that something has already been done (“did ”) Did you study last night?
