College Prep Elective: 1 year additional in Mathematics, Science, English, Art, Social Studies or World Language Must take the SAT or ACT Exams GRADUATION Social Science 30 Credits: World History, US History, US Government, Economics English 40 Credits: English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12 Mathematics 20 Credits: Algebra I or higher. Courses below Algebra I do not count toward the 20 credits required for graduation. Science 20 Credits: Biological Science, Physical Science World Languages/Visual and Performing Arts/Practical Arts 20 Credits: 10 credits in two of three areas. PE 20 credits: plus Fitnessgram ( Dance or Sport) Electives 70 Credits Total Credits Required for Graduation: 220

Two-Year Colleges •Requires High School Diploma or GED. •Awards Associate degrees or certificate of study •Can prepare students for transferring to a 4-year college or university or… •Offers technical training in specific occupations (Computer Tech, culinary arts) •Most are non-residential; students live off-campus •Students can attend part-time or full-time •Most public 2-year colleges have very low fees •Cost $46 a unit

4-yr College/University Admission Requirements Most 4-year colleges require students to fulfill 4 requirements to be considered for admission: Complete the A-G requirements Take the College Entrance Tests (SAT/ACT) Earn good grades Submit an application, Letter of Rec., personal statement or essay.

Not Required, but Recommended Colleges and Universities look for “well-rounded” students too! Participate in extracurricular activities: –Sports –Student government –Music, Drama, Visual Arts –Community/Volunteer service –Part-time jobs
