Hablar (Stem is “Habl-”) Step 1: Find the stem: To do this: Remove the “-ar”, “-er”, or “-ir” from the end of the infiinitive Hablar (Stem is “Habl-”) Comer (Stem is “Com-”) Escribir (Stem is “Escrib-”)

Step 2: Add the verb ending To do this: 1. Determine who or what the subject of the sentence is. 2. Add the ending onto the stem that “agrees with” or matches with the subject
