Possessive Adjectives Spanish I Chapter 5-1 Possessive Adjectives

Punto #1 POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES show ownership or relations between people. They are placed BEFORE the noun.

OWNERS (singular) Yo Tú Él, ella, usted MI libro MIS libros TU libro TUS libros SU libro SUS libros

OWNERS (Plural) Nosotros Vosotros Ellos, ellas, ustedes NUESTRO/A libro NUESTROS/AS libros VUESTRO/A libro VUESTROS/AS libros SU libro SUS libros

Punto #2 While possessive adjectives refer to the OWNER, their form agrees in GENDER and NUMBER with the noun that comes after them.

Punto #2 EXAMPLE Martin lives with his grandparents. refers to Martin vive con sus abuelos. agrees gramatically

Punto #3 SU and SUS can take the place of a phrase with DE + PERSON.

Punto #3 EXAMPLE Where is Juan’s mom from? ¿De dónde es la madre de Juan? His mom is from Cuba. Su madre es de Cuba.
