Reflexive explanation A verb is reflexive when the subject does the action to or for himself. A reflexive pronoun always accompanies such a verb. The pronoun agrees in person and number with the subject of the verb. Reflexive pronouns precede a conjugated verb.  

Reflexive explanation Los niños se bañan de noche. The children bathe (themselves) at night. Yo siempre me acuesto a las once. I always go to bed at eleven.  

Reflexive explanation The reflexive pronoun is necessary only when the subject does something to or for itself.   Mamá se despierta primero y luego despierta a los niños. Mother wakes up first and then wakes up the children. Primero me baño y luego baño a los niños. First I bathe, and then I bathe the children.
