TENSION It’s a stress that tends to lengthen or stretch the member
COMPRESSION It’s a stress that tends to shorten or squeeze the member Silla puzzle

BENDING It’s a stress that tends to bend the member
TORSION It’s a stress that tends to twist the member
SHEAR It’s a stress that tends to cut the member or to slide one part over the other
