Definition A stress is an internal force which acts on a member of the structure. There are 5 kinds of stresses: Tension Compression Bending Torsion Shear

TENSION It’s a stress that tends to lengthen or stretch the member

COMPRESSION It’s a stress that tends to shorten or squeeze the member Silla puzzle
