Rules about lo, la, los, las 1. In Spanish, the direct object pronoun you use depends on gender AND number of the noun it replaces. 2. Notice that the direct object pronoun comes before the conjugated verb. Lavo el carro Lo lavo.

3. The pronoun may also be attached to the infinitive. (Remember when there are two verbs back to back, the first one is conjugated and the second one is not. ) Necesito lavar el carro Necesito lavarlo.

Remember these two rules 1.Place the D.O. pronoun in front of conjugated verbs. 2. Attach the D.O. pronoun to an infinitive verb.
