¿Qué tipo de vacaciones prefieres? What type of holidays do you prefer? Prefiero las vacaciones en la playa/cerca del mar porque me gusta relajarme y tomar el sol I prefer my holidays on the beach/near the sea beacuse I like to relax and sunbathe Me gustan más las vacaciones de montaña porque no me gusta el calor I like to go on the mountains the most because I don´t like the heat Me gustan las vacaciones culturales porque me gusta visitar monumentos y aprender sobre la cultura de otros países I like cultural holidays because I like visiting monuments and learning about the culture in other countries
¿Qué hiciste en tus últimas vacaciones ¿Qué hiciste en tus últimas vacaciones? What did you do during your last holidays? Fui a España/Francia/ Italia/Grecia… con mi familia I went to Spain/France/Italy/Greece… with my family Viajé al sur/este/oeste/norte de Irlanda a visitar a unos parientes I travelled to the south/east/west/north of Ireland to visit some relations Pasé unos días en un hotel en Kerry/Cork/ Dublín… I spent a few days in a hotel in Kerry/Cork/Dublin… Me quedé en casa porque tengo que ahorrar para ir a la universidad el año que viene I stayed at home because I have to save for college next year
¿Conociste a gente durante las vacaciones ¿Conociste a gente durante las vacaciones? Did you meet anybody during the holidays? Sí. Conocí a unos chicos españoles/franceses…de mi edad Yes. I met some Spanish/French… kids same age as me. Sí. Había unos jóvenes irlandeses en mi hotel y solía salir con ellos Yes. There were some young people from Ireland in my hotel and I used to go out with them. La verdad es que no. No soy una persona muy sociable Not really. I am not a very sociable person. Desgraciadamente no. Es muy difícil conocer gente en un país cuando no hablas bien el idioma Unfortunately not. It´s very difficult to meet people when you don´t know the language of the country well enough
¿Visitaste atracciones turísticas ¿Visitaste atracciones turísticas? Did you visit any tourist attractions? Sí. Fui a un castillo/ una catedral/ un museo/ algunos edificios antiguos... Yes. I went a castle/ a cathedral/ a museum/ some old buildings… Nada de visitas culturales. Fui al campo de fútbol del Real Madrid/a un parque de atracciones/ de tiendas No cultural visits. I went to the Real Madrid football stadium/to the fun fair/ shopping No hice absolutamente nada. Pasé todos los días en la playa y la piscina I did absolutely nothing. I spent the days on the beach and by the pool
¿Qué fue lo mejor de las vacaciones ¿Qué fue lo mejor de las vacaciones? What was the best thing about the holidays? Lo mejor fue el tiempo. No llovió ni un día. The best was the weather. It didn´t rain at all Lo mejor fue que conocí a gente muy simpática y lo pasé bomba con ellos The best thing was that I met some really nice people and I had a great time with them Lo mejor fue la comida de la zona. Me encantó The best thing was the local food. I loved it Lo mejor fue poder descansar y no tener que pensar en el colegio o en exámenes The best thing was being able to relax and not having to think about school or exams.
¿Te gustaría volver allí? Would you like to go back there? La verdad es que no. Me gustaría visitar sitios nuevos Not really. I´d like to visit new places Rotundamente no. Fue un rollo Absolutely not. It was really boring Sí. Pero me gustaría volver con amigos, sin mi familia. Yes, but I´d like to go back with my friends, not with my family Sí. Fue una experiencia fantástica y me encantaría repetir Yes. It was a wonderful experience and I´d like to do it again.
¿Qué planes tienes para tus próximas vacaciones ¿Qué planes tienes para tus próximas vacaciones? What are your plans for your next holidays? Todavía no lo sé seguro, pero me gustaría hacer un viaje con mis amigos I am not sure yet, but I´d like to go on a trip with my friends Voy a ir al mismo sitio de siempre I am going to go to the usual place Me voy a quedar en casa porque tengo un trabajo este verano I am going to stay at home because I am working this summer No tengo ni idea. Mis padres van a organizarlo todo I have no idea. My parents are organising everything.
