Los Verbos Reflexivos

To say that people do something for themselves, you use reflexive verbs. You know the verb is reflexive if its infinitive form ends with the letters “se.”

The reflexive pronouns in Spanish are “me, te, se, nos, os” Each pronoun corresponds to a different subject.

I wash my car often = non reflexive I wash my hair often = reflexive Some verbs have both reflexive and non-reflexive forms and usages. Non reflexive form = if action is being done to someone, something else. I wash my car often = non reflexive I wash my hair often = reflexive

You can put the reflexive pronouns before the verb or attach them to the infinitive. secarse = to dry plural singular (yo) me seco (nosotros) nos secamos (nosotras) (tú) te secas (vosotros) os secáis (vosotras) (él) (ella) se seca (Ud.) (ellos) (ellas) se secan (Uds.)
