Calentamiento Hoy es miércoles, el 4 de enero Come in have a seat and begin working on your warm-up. Answer the following questions in a complete sentence in Spanish: ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿De dónde eres? ¿Cuántos años tienes?

Classroom routines and expectations

Entering the classroom: Greet the teacher in Spanish and shake her hand Come in, put your cellphone in your cellphone spot and begin working on the warm-up (calentamiento). If you are tardy sign in and begin working.

During classtime: Participation is required! Leaving the classroom during class time: Students will be given 2 restroom passes during the six weeks that can be turned in for extra credit at the end of the grading period. Only three students can leave the class during a class period. You must sign out when you use your pass. 2 restroom passes = drop one quiz grade (grade cannot be lower than a 50) 1 restroom pass = drop one minor grade (homework, classwork, duolingo, etc..)

Exiting the classroom: Once the class is over you will have a “Boleto de Salida” (exit ticket). You must get a stamp from me on your exit ticket before you are allowed to line up for dismissal. When your exit ticket has been stamped you can get up and grab your phone.

Department grading policy The grading policy at Austin High School is: 50% Major grades: tests, projects, and presentations 50% Minor grades: quizzes, individual practices, daily grades.   Late work For Major grades One calendar day late: grade can be up to maximum of 90 Two calendar days late: grade can be up to maximum of 80 Three calendar days late: grade can be up to maximum of 70 More than three calendar days late: maximum grade of 60

Department grading policy For Minor grades One calendar day late: maximum of 80 More than one calendar day late: Maximum grade of 70 If the answers for an assignment have already been reviewed in class, the teacher will assign the student a 50 or alternate assignment. All work must be turned in by the penultimate week of each 6 weeks grading period. I will not accept work after that time period. Retest Students receiving a grade of 79 or below on a test will be allowed to retest for up to a maximum grade of 80, provided that the student comes in for tutoring.

Duolingo The class will be using Duolingo for homework assignments. I will assign homework from duolingo WEEKLY. It is extremely important that you complete them because every week will be a continuation of the previous assignment.

Duolingo Duolingos are due every Wednesday at 9pm. Next due: Ir future  Jan 11th V. Inf. 1  Jan 18th Education  Jan 25th Adject. 2  Feb 1st Please come see me if you need help setting it up.
