Problema En qué medida incide el tipo de tarea, definido como el requerimiento de elaboración de un estímulo (profundo/superficial) y el nivel de procesamiento (semántico/no semántico) sobre la recuperación de información técnico-científico en inglés para un lector cuya lengua materna no es el inglés.

Hipótesis A más elaboración del estímulo de acuerdo con el requerimiento de la tarea, más retención de la información leída de un texto escrito en inglés. A más profundidad de procesamiento, mejor retención de información de un texto escrito en inglés. La interacción del tipo de procesamiento y el grado de elaboración exigido por la tarea tiene un efecto sobre la retención de información leída de un texto escrito en inglés.
