El subjuntivo con expresiones de duda o negación The subjunctive is used when a speaker expresses doubt, uncertainty, or disbelief relevant to an action or condition. The verb of the first clause (which expresses doubt, uncertainty, etc.) is in the indicative; the second clause is in the subjunctive. 1. Subject #1 expression indicating doubt, uncertainty, or disbelief (indicative) 2. + que + 3. Subject # 2 action or condition that is doubted, uncertain, etc. (subjunctive) Creo que podemos escalar este pico. Sí, pero dudo que podamos escalarlo hoy.
