DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS ME NOS TEOS LOLOS LALAS

We have already learned the following direct object pronouns: me = me te = you (informal) nos = us These pronouns refer only to people.

We use pronouns to shorten our sentences in both English and Spanish. The pronouns go before the verb in the Spanish sentence.

Review Carlos ve a mi. (Carlos) me ve. Maria conoce a ti. (Maria) te conoce.

Ana ve a nosotros. (Ana) nos ve.

Lo, la, los, las These 4 pronouns usually refer to things. Elena lanza el balón. Elena lo lanza.

Occasionally they can refer to people. Yo invito a Carlos. Yo lo invito.

Yo compro el boleto. (Yo) lo compro. Tú usas la crema bronceadora. (Tú) la usas.

Ella tiene sus libros. (Ella) los tiene. Carlos compra las flores. (Carlos) las compra.
