Community Benefits: The expansion of the drinking water system will benefit the population residing at east and the west side of the city since it lacks the service and does not have a reliable and safe source to fulfill its basic water needs. If the project does not take place, the people will continue to receive a limited water supply through water trucks, and because of the lack of tap water, the population will continue to be exposed to health risks Nombre del Proyecto y Localización: Ampliación de los Sistemas de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado en Tecate, Baja California Tipo de Proyecto: Conexiones Domésticas a los Servicios de Agua y Alcantarillado. Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $2.78 Descripción del Proyecto: El proyecto consiste en la ampliación del sistema de distribución de agua potable y recolección de aguas residuales para el este y suroeste de la ciudad de Tecate B.C. Beneficios a la Comunidad: La ampliación del sistema de agua potable proveerá de servicio a la población asentada en la zona este y oeste de la comunidad que en el presente carece de este servicio y no cuenta con una fuente confiable para satisfacer sus necesidades básicas. De no llevarse a cabo el proyecto, la población continuará recibiendo una dotación menor a la necesaria por medio de pipas y debido a la carencia de este servicio se pone en riesgo la salud de los habitantes.
