GUSTAR (TO LIKE) GUSTAR is the verb TO LIKE in Spanish It literally translates to “to be pleasing,” but we use it to mean “to like” in English. Spanish: Me gusta la música. English: I like the music. LITERAL The music is pleasing to me. Translation:

GUSTAR (TO LIKE) We use GUSTA to express our like for: Verbs / actions (in the infinitive)* correr estudiar cantar compartir hacer Singular nouns la tarea la guitarra el teléfono la comida el agua We use GUSTAN to express our like for: Plural nouns las galletas los amigos los correos eletrónicos los libros *verbs in the infinitive end en AR, ER and IR and mean “to _____________.” For example, BAILAR “to dance,” CORRER “to run,” and VIVIR “to live.”
