1 Acabar de + infinitive Used to state the subject has just done the action. Acabar is a regular –ar verb (-o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an) Remember that infinitives end in –ar, -er, or –ir. This construction does not translate directly to English.

2 Formation Conjugate acabar to agree with whomever is doing the action. Follow the conjugated form of acabar with de then the infinitive of what the person just did. Ex: I just ate cereal. They just studied for the test. Acaban de estudiar para el examen. Acabo de comer la cereal.
