2 What is an idiomatic expression? In English: I am feeling a bit under the weather. It’s a phrase that can’t be literally translated into Spanish!!!!! Spanish has idiomatic expressions too!

4 What is the verb hacer in English? Hacer: to make, do yo hagonosotros hacemos tú haces----------------- ustedustedes élhaceelloshacen ellaellas

5 Examples of the verb hacer when it’s used normally. Yo hago la cama por la mañana. I make the bed in the morning. Tú haces la tarea a las seis. You do the homework at six.

6 Here are the idiomatic expressions with the verb hacer… 1. How is the weather? ¿Qué tiempo hace? 2. It is good weather/bad weather. Hace buen/mal tiempo.

7 3. It is cold/hot/cool. Hace frio/calor/fresco.

8 4. Hacer un viaje: to take a trip I take a trip every year. Yo hago un viaje cada año.

9 5. Hacer una pregunta: to ask a question John asks a question. Juan hace una pregunta.

12 Examples of the verb tener when it’s used normally. Yo tengo cinco hermanos. I have five brothers. Ustedes tienen mucha tarea. You all have a lot of homework.
