2 Agreement of adjectives 1).. All adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun or pronoun that they modify. Adjectives that end in –o in the masculine have four different forms: To form the plural of most adjectives ending in an unaccented vowel, add –s To form the plural of adjectives ending in a consonant, add –es All other adjectives with the exception of adjectives of nationality have two forms, singular and plural Singular El hombre cubano La revista cubana Plural Los hombres cubanos Las revistas cubanas Los libros nuevos - Las casas nuevas El ejercicio difícil – los ejercicos difíciles El chico amable – los chicos amables La chica amamble – las chicas amables

3 2). Adjectives of nationality that end in a consonant have four forms. An –a is added to create the feminine form. The plural forms follow the prescribed pattern.. Adjectives of nationality that end in –n or –s have a written accent mark in the masculine singular form. el chico español - los chicos españoles la chica española – las chicas españolas el coche japonés – los coches japoneses La casa japonesa – las casas japonesas el perro alemán – los perros alemanes La revista alemana – las revistas alemanas

4 3) Adjectives ending in: –or, -ón, -án or –ín add –a to form the feminine, and they have four forms. ▪ 4) ▪ Adjectives that modify both a masculine and a feminine noun use the masculine plural form.
