Plural of Nouns There are 3 basic patterns for forming plural nouns in Spanish. Nouns that end in a vowel add –s. el hombre the man→ los hombres the men una carta the letter→ unas cartas some letters

2 Plural of Nouns Nouns that end in a consonant add –es.
la mujer the woman→las mujeres the women la pared the wall→las paredes the walls el rey the king→ los reyes the kings el mes the month →los meses the months

3 Plural of Nouns Nouns that end in unstressed –es or –is have identical singular and plural forms. Their article indicates number. el lunes Monday→ los lunes Mondays la crisis the crisis→las crisis the crises

4 Plural of Nouns Some nouns undergo a spelling change in the plural.
In nouns ending in –z, the z changes to a c. un lápiz→ unos lápices a pencil →some (a few) pencils una vez→unas veces one time→some (a few) times
