2 Background The Committee was created to accomplish 2005 IPP Project objectives. The Committee was created to accomplish 2005 IPP Project objectives. Due to 80% of chlamydia and syphilis infections are concentrated between youth 15 to 29 years old, we recognized the necessity to incorporate organizations and/or institutions which works with young people as Health Care providers, Universities, and Department of Education between others. 6 Purposes To provide counseling, promotion and increase STD testing principally, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, targeted to high STD risk population in PR. 7 Activities Collaborative Agreement with PR Medical Technologist Board to perform STD/HIV screening activities around the Island. Efforts Efforts A STD epidemiologic profile was presented to Superintendents and Directors of all Educative Regions of PR Department of Education. San Juan, Ponce and Bayamon were the municipalities with the highest incidence of STDs between the group of 13 to 24 years old. Schools will be selected based on this epidemiologic indicator.
