Many nouns and adjectives have the following endings:
Masculine Feminine Singular o a Plural os as Making the endings of adjectives and nouns match is called agreement in gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural).

The forms of ¿cuánto. are used to ask how much. or how many
The forms of ¿cuánto? are used to ask how much? or how many? Like other adjectives, ¿cuánto? matches the noun it describes. el papel ¿Cuánto papel tienes? la tarea ¿Cuánta tarea hay en la clase de español? los bolígrafos ¿Cuántos bolígrafos necesitas? las carpetas ¿Cuántas carpetas hay?

The forms of mucho mean a lot, much, or many.
Like ¿cuánto?, mucho changes to match the noun it modifies. No necesito muchas carpetas, pero necesito muchos bolígrafos y mucho papel. Tengo mucha tarea.

Cuánto/a and mucho/a are used with things we don’t usually count.
¿Cuánto papel tienes? Tengo mucho. ¿Cuánta ropa hay? Hay mucha. Cuántos/as and muchos/as are used when we can count the things to which we refer.
