4 Stem-Changing Verbs Tener! Yo tengo Nosotros tenemos
Some verbs CHANGE in the STEM in the present tense. One type of stem-changing verb is when an E changes to an IE You already know one stem-changing verb that does it! Any guesses? … Tener! Yo tengo Nosotros tenemos Tú tienes Vosotros tenéis Ella/él/Ud. tiene Ellos/ellas/Uds. tienen

5 Stem-Changing Verbs *You’ll know it’s a stem-changer when the infinitive is followed by vowels in parentheses Querer (ie) *These are the vowels the stem will change to (usually the last vowel before the ar/er/ir ending). *There are other types of stem-changers, but today we are focusing on e ie *PLEASE NOTE: The rules about ar, er, and ir endings still apply! The verbs conjugates NORMALLY—take off the ending and add the new endings. Now you just have to change the stem too!
