REPORTED SPEECH (1) STATEMENTS La frase se suele introducir con los verbos say y tell. No hay comillas Los verbos cambian al pasado Los pronombres y adjetivos posesivos cambian lógicamente (normalmente de la 1ª y 2ª persona a la 3ª), excepto cuando el hablante cuenta lo que él dijo. El pronombre you cambia a I o we. Las palabras que indican lugar y tiempo deben cambiar lógicamente

REPORTED SPEECH (2) QUESTIONS Una pregunta deja de serlo y se convierte en una frase. No hay comillas ni signo de interrogación ni inversión de sujeto y verbo. Detrás del verbo introductor (ask, …) aparecenif (whether) o question word (what, who, …).

REPORTED SPEECH (3) COMMANDS and REQUESTS Se emplea un verbo introductor que exprese mandato (tell, ask, order, …). El imperativo pasa a infinitivo. Al traducir las ideas en estilo indirecto usamos el subjuntivo.
