3 REPORTED SPEECH (1) STATEMENTS La frase se suele introducir con los verbos say y tell. No hay comillas Los verbos cambian al pasado Los pronombres y adjetivos posesivos cambian lógicamente (normalmente de la 1ª y 2ª persona a la 3ª), excepto cuando el hablante cuenta lo que él dijo. El pronombre you cambia a I o we. Las palabras que indican lugar y tiempo deben cambiar lógicamente

11 REPORTED SPEECH (2) QUESTIONS Una pregunta deja de serlo y se convierte en una frase. No hay comillas ni signo de interrogación ni inversión de sujeto y verbo. Detrás del verbo introductor (ask, …) aparecenif (whether) o question word (what, who, …).

12 REPORTED SPEECH QUESTIONS Do you like fast food? Tom said to Mary. Tom asked Mary if she liked fast food.

13 REPORTED SPEECH QUESTIONS Where did you meet your boyfriend? Paul said to Sally. Paul asked Sally where she had met her boyfriend.

15 REPORTED SPEECH (3) COMMANDS and REQUESTS Se emplea un verbo introductor que exprese mandato (tell, ask, order, …). El imperativo pasa a infinitivo. Al traducir las ideas en estilo indirecto usamos el subjuntivo.
