2 Speaking You will select ONE scenario BEFORE the day of the exam and practice in class and at home!!! WOO-HOO You may prepare 1 notecard containing 10 bulleted points (vocabulary expressions and key terms) to help with the organization of the presentation. (NO complete sentences please!) You may use ONLY this notecard during the speaking part of the exam. You are expected to speak for 2 minutes but you will have up to 3 minutes to give your response. The PALS Speaking Rubric will be used – 24 points The Speaking Portion will be given BEFORE the Final Exam week date.

3 Speaking Prompts Scenario A Describe what you did last summer, and then discuss your plans for the upcoming summer. Be sure to include the following: 1. ¿Adónde viajaste el verano pasado para tus vacaciones y qué hiciste? 2. Si pudieras hacer algo diferente ¿qué harías? 3. ¿Qué harás el próximo verano?

4 Speaking Prompts Scenario B Describe a specific event – a wedding, graduation, funeral, a birth, engagement… that has impacted you or your family. 1. ¿Por qué escogiste este evento? ¿Cuál es la importancia de este evento en tu vida y la vida de tu familia? 2. ¿Qué pasó y qué te impresionó más? Si pudieras hacer algo diferente, ¿qué harías? 3. ¿Qué harás en el futuro para usar las memorias o las lecciones de este evento para mejorar tu vida?

5 Writing Given BEFORE the Final Exam week of school. Students may not use any notes, dictionaries, or other supports during the writing exam. The PALS rubric will be used – the Written section is out of 24 points. Students will select ONE of the 3 tasks given on the Written section of the exam. Students will write a total of 15-20 sentences in complete sentences based on the prompt and guided questions. BE PREPARED TO USE THE PAST TENSE, SUBJUNCTIVE MOOD, THE FUTURE TENSE, THE CONDITIONAL TENSE AND THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE when appropriate.

9 El Examen Final Written – 24 points Speaking – 24 points Listening – 21 points Reading – 21 points THE FINAL EXAM IS WORTH 10% OF YOUR FINAL SPANISH 3 GRADE.
