SIMPLE FUTURE When the future action is closely tied to the present, Spanish speakers usually use the expression “ir + a + infinitive” rather than the future tense.

SIMPLE FUTURE CONT’D The simple future is very easy to use. Conjugate ir to the present tense: Ir-to go Yo voy Nos. vamos Tú vas Vos. vais Ud. VaUds. van

SIMPLE FUTURE CONT’D After conjugating Ir to the subject, just add “a” and the infinitive of the following verb (action of the subject). Examples: 1.Voy a salir con mis amigos este noche. 2.Vamos a ver el libro de Julio en clase. 3.Vais a volar para Atlanta este tarde.

THE FUTURE TENSE The future Tense in Spanish is a simple tense. As in all simple tenses, a set of endings is added to a stem of the verb. In the case of the regular future tense, the endings are added to the end of the infinitive (non-conjugated verb) verb.

THE FUTURE TENSE CONT’D The future endings, given below, are the same for all three verb conjugations. Yo -é, Tú -ás, Ud. -á, Nos. -emos, Vos. -éis, Uds. –án Examples of Future Tense Sentences. 1. Felipe trabajará en la oficina de su padre. 2. Yo visitaré a mis abuelos en Madrid. 3. Marcos y Ricardo jugarán en el parque todo el verano.

TAREA Individual assignment: write out 5 Simple Future Tense sentences about what you plan to do tonight at home. Also, write out 5 Future Tense sentences about what you plan to do after High School. After completion, turn this into the sub for me to grade. We will go over common mistakes made by the class collectively in class tomorrow.
