4 Putting subject pronouns, verbs and adjetivos together……

5 In Spanish…. For a simple, basic, declarative sentence…. We usually have the same word order as English……but remember, the pronoun may not always be in the sentence – it may be an understood subject. Subject Sujeto I Yo Verb verbo am soy Object/descriptive phrase Objeto/frase descriptiva intelligent inteligente El He is es blonde rubio

6 What are these sentences saying in English? Yo soy maestra de español. Soy maestra de español. Tú eres artística. Eres artística. Juan es cómico.

7 What if the subject is NOT a pronoun? This is where we have to start looking at which pronoun is the equivalent of our subject… and use the form of the verb that matches the pronoun. DO NOT change the subject to a pronoun. Ejemplo: Mario y yo = nosotrossomos Tú y Marcos y Paco = ustedesson Tú y el chico español = vosotrossois

You (Mario and Paco) are intelligent and musical. 10. She and Teresa are not funny. OJO: To make the sentence negative put the word NO before the verb.
