3 Subject Pronouns in Spanish Singular yo tύtύ él ella Usted(Ud.) = I = You = he = she = you(formal)

4 Plural nosotros/as vosotros/as ellos ellas Ustedes (Uds.) We You (all/infor)--Spain They(masc) They(fem) You all (formal)

5 Por Ejemplo: I am nice Maria es simpática. Maria y yo somos simpáticas. Alfredo y Luis son pacientes. =Yo soy simpática. =Ella es simpática. =Nosotras somos.. =Ellos son pacientes.

6 Repaso- Gender of nouns -All nouns have gender-either Masculine or Feminine -Most masculine nouns end in –o -Most feminine nouns end in –a Ex.: el libro/un libro(masc) la carpeta/una carpeta(fem)

7 Some Nouns do NOT end in –o or –a – these genders must be learned and memorized Ex: el lápiz(masc.), el borrador(masc.) la nariz(fem), el pie(masc.)

8 Some nouns end in –o or –a, BUT their genders are exceptions to the rule. Ex: la mano-(fem) el agua-(mas)
