Adjectives describe nouns. In Spanish they must agree with the noun described in two ways…………

1.Gender (masculine or feminine noun) Nouns ending in “ a ”, “ dad ”, “ d ” or “ ci ó n ” are usually feminine. Nouns ending in “o”, “r”, “ma”, or other consonants are usually masculine.

2.Number (Singular or Plural Noun) Hint = Look for the “s” on the end of the noun.

Adjectives ending in “o” or “a” can have 4 forms:

Adjectives ending in any other letter will usually only have two forms: Singularinteligente Pluralinteligentes Singularinteligente Pluralinteligentes

Adjectives are usually placed after the noun they describe in a sentence: Juan es un chico atl é tico. Rosa es una chica guapa. Es una clase interesante. ¿ Tienes un bol í grafo azul? Juan es un chico atl é tico. Rosa es una chica guapa. Es una clase interesante. ¿ Tienes un bol í grafo azul?

When plural nouns refer to both males and females, a masculine, plural form is used. Emilio, Lupe, y María son morenos.

If there is a “rhyme” at the end of different words in a sentence, then the articles, adjectives and nouns are in agreement and the sentence is probably composed correctly. Las chicas altas son bellas. Las chicas altas son bellas.
