3 All nouns in Spanish are either masculine or feminine. Sometimes it is because the nouns are male or female. Sometimes the gender assignment is RANDOM. Masculine Examples: chico, amigo, profesor Feminine Examples: chica, amiga, profesora Random Masculine Examples: teléfono, dinero, papel Random Feminine Examples: cámara, cebra, celebración

4 Common masculine noun endings: o, r, l, Common feminine noun endings: a, ion Nouns ending in “e” sometimes are masculine and sometimes used for both. tigreamigapersonapapel canciónflorzapatoestudiante

5 Adjective Agreement: Adjectives are placed after the noun and have to be masculine or feminine to match the noun. Numbers, “mucho” and “otro” go before the noun. Masculine Examples: sombrero rojo Feminine Examples: calculadora roja

6 Making Plurals: Add “s” to the noun and adjective. If the noun ends in a consonant, add “es”. Masculine Examples: muchos sombreros rojos dos profesores estrictos Feminine Examples: otras calculadoras rojas
