2 Affirmative and Negative Words The following words are used to talk about negative situations: Nada nothing Nadie no one Ningún/Ninguno(a) none, not any Nunca never Tampoco neither/either

3 Affirmative and Negative Words Alguno is used in front of the preposition de to mean “any” or “some.” Alguno (de ellos) vendrá a la fiesta. Any (one of them) will come to the party.

4 Affirmative and Negative Words When this word directly precedes a singular masculine noun, it shortens to algún. Ella compra algún bolso. She buys a bag (any kind).

5 The other forms follow typical gender and number patterns and precede the nouns they modify Algunos problemas son imposibles de resolver. Some problems are impossible to resolve. Algunas veces es difícil estudiar. Sometimes it's difficult to study.
